Show Review: 521

First time to Myrtle Beach but 12th time to see Social Distortion (first time was in 1992). The show was the best performance that I’ve witnessed from this phenomenal band. The improved setlist was one factor but Mike’s incredible energy level this time was the main reason. Many in the audience commented that the addition of Atom on drums makes it a whole new band- more youthful and more energetic. I caught his drumstick (over many younsters, most of them probably half my age) and had my hand on a pick but was stripped of it by one of those same youngsters. I heard one of my favorites, 99 to Life, for the first time live. Don’t Drag Me Down and Makin Beleive were, in my opinion, highlights of the show. Great, great show by a great, great band at a great, great venue.
