Show Review: 514

This was my first Social D show and I was blown away! Social D are truly one of the best live rock and roll bands making music today. Mike Ness is the coolest and most entertaining front man I have ever seen. The whole band was super tight and the sound was excellent. I stood in the back near the "smoking doors" and had a great view of the band the whole show. There was a good crowd vibe all night. The setlist was near perfect, especially for a first-timer like me, and I was glad they threw "99 To Life" in there. The opening acts were good too. Middle Class Rut reminded me of Jane’s Addiction a lot, with the echoey vocals and all. The Strangers kind of sound like a cross between Rancid and Poison in my opinion if that makes any sense. I had tix to see Social D at Hampton Beach in 2007 and sold them, boy do I regret that now. I hope I get to see them again in my lifetime. Long live rock and roll and long live Social D!
