Third time we’ve gone to see Social D there. (First in ‘07, then in ’09.) It was my my husband and I’s 1 year wedding anniversary. We had just had a baby in May so this was the perfect little get away. I’ve seen a lot of shows in my life but Social D is by far the best. It seems like they must play the casino ever year..that means we’ll be going every year :) Also, Mike would’ve kicked that guy’s ass!

this was my first Social D show!!!! I thought it was awesome. I can’t wait for the new disc. I will drive 3 hrs again if they come back to Green Bay. Great show thats all I can say. Hopefully next time I will get a guitar pick. I was too slow getting from the handicapped section to the front of the stage after the show and by the time I did the roadies had thrown out all the picks. Thanks for an awesome evening!!!!

An uncomfortably hot, humid day in August. A casino with a $100 buy-in Bingo tournament. An overpriced hotel room.
Normally, this would be just a shitty mini-vacation-gone wrong. But from the stairwell, I could hear the first band setting up.
Then a while later when I was outside, I heard faintly the band’s soundcheck(?) – Prison Bound.
The evening was beginning to turn around for the better.

I only caught a few minutes of the openers: they were worth seeing, but they weren’t the reason I ventured into the world of seniors pumping
their social security into slot machines, family vacationers with their oversized SUV’s and the perpetually fucked up road construction in and
around Green Bay. The lead singer of Action Design was nice to look at however.

Then the main event: Social Distortion. It will be one of the most memorable concerts that I have seen.
“Reach for the Sky”, with an extended solo, was almost a fusion of the original and “Footprints on my
Ceiling.” It was haunting. A rendition of “Ring of Fire” that would make Johnny Cash proud. “Don’t Drag Me Down”, a personal
favorite live, was chest-pounding. And how can I not mention the dumbass that was ejected before Mike got down from the stage and
had to “choke a bitch”? That was GREAT.

I was disappointed that I didn’t get to meet Mike Ness. Again.

I did meet Danny McGough, who was a very nice guy. Even got a picture with him.

I can’t wait until the next show, and I hope that they play “I Was Wrong” the next time they’re in Green Bay.

First off, great venue for a show! I liked the fact that you didn’t have to stay in the concert the whole time. We saw bits and pieces of the opening bands and just hung around in the casino the rest of the time. We stayed for good just before Social D came on. They opened up with Bye Bye Baby – a very good choice. Some other songs I remember (in no particular order): Bad Luck, Under My Thumb, Ball and Chain, Sick Boys, Don’t Drag Me Down, a new song called ‘Still Alive’ (which was fucking amazing by the way)…the encore was Making Believe, Nickles and Dimes, and finally, Ring of Fire. Halfway through the show Mike almost came into the crowd and beat the shit out of some fat guy who was throwing shit on stage…comes to show that Mike Ness is still a badass. Overall, badass show…can’t wait to see them live again.

Social-D Kicked our ass again! Mike Ness is my ultimate Rock-N-Roll hero as Johnny Cash is to him. To me, this is the greatest band that I have ever seen. I cannot believe I was able to see him and the band for a second time in 2 years. Thank you for the inspiration and good luck with the next album. I am sure it will kick ass as usual. Please come back soon!

Have seen SD several times around the country in the past and they just continue to top what I have witnessed in the before. Mike is really into it and almost jumped into the crowd to kick some jerks ass. Never saw that before, it got very lively at that point. Can not wait for the new release in November and for the next show. Like the sexy and fun but mysteriously unpredictable girl, they always leave you satisfied but yet wanting more.

First – what happened with that dude up fron that set Mike off? We could see it brewing but couldn’t see exactly what was going on. 2nd – the show. Wow. This was not my first time seeing SocialD but it was the best. The sound was flawless, the band was a tireless machine, every part in perfect sync with the next. They somehow mannaged to play like they do it every night without looking like they do it every night. Mike Ness was, of course, Mike Ness. He had the sam stage presence that he’s always had, but he seemed younger this time around. I missed the Action Design (unfortunately – they must not have played for much more than 30 minutes), and I thought Dan Sartain was fine but quite pedestrian and unremarkable. Thanks gang for coming back to Green Bay!

As always, a great concert. You boys never fail to deliver. Mike, thank you for taking the time before you boarded your bus to talk with me and my wife. Certain terms get thrown around too loosely, but in this case there can be no doubt, you are a living legend.

See you in Chicago.

Not gonna lie… Sunday shows suck ass. But so do big friggin idiots that plow thru the crowd like they’re the only one there to see the show and piss off everyone around them and throw shit at the band. That’s why it was so cool when Ness stopped and personally booted forementioned big friggin idiot! Ness called him out and thumbneck backed down. Not so damn tuff now, is he! I was there with my wife and 13 year old daughter, who LOVES Social D, and I think she felt like that was almost a personal favor to her. In any case, she said it was the best show she’s ever been to. Not like she’s been to all that many but you’re somebody’s hero, Mike. Thanks!
