Due to unforeseen circumstances, TAT will no longer be performing on the forthcoming Social Distortion tour. Taking their place will be Middle Class Rut (MC Rut). Social D are happy to have MC Rut on aboard and are looking forward to touring with them and The Strangers.

Four shows into their European tour, Social D are feeling good! Last night in Paris was incredible. Madrid, Barcelona and Bilbao, Spain, were great cities to get it started and thank you to everyone who has come out to make these nights special. With an overwhelming show of support tonight at the House Of Blues in Anaheim, a combined effort of great performances by the Japanese Motors, The Black Tibetans, The Vandals and Social Distortion, helped raise Jay Thomas $41,607!

A sincere THANKS to all who came out is support of Jay Thomas tonight. It was a heart filled room this evening and we couldn’t have asked for a better group of fans to support such an incredible cause. Not only will the money raised help Jay with his recovery, but the 1100 strong and the love expressed by everyone in the room tonight will go a long way with helping Jay spiritually on his road to recovery.

In many ways this is just the beginning of a long and challenging battle for Jay, but with your help tonight we were able to show Jay that he’s not alone in this fight.

After ten amazing years behind the drum kit for Social Distortion, Charlie “Chalo” Quintana has announced he’s moving on to explore other musical opportunities. Charlie had this to say about his departure, “Playing with Social D for ten years was a good time in my life. I was lucky to play on two Social D records and the second solo album, and I am proud to have been part of the band. We hit some spectacular heights which I will never forget – adios amigos!”

Filling Charlie’s big shoes is none other than Atom Willard. You’ve probably seen Atom wailing on the skins with Rocket From The Crypt, The Offspring, or his most recent band Angels & Airwaves. We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome such a great talent and individual into the band. Atom’s first show with Social D will be the Jay Thomas benefit on May 18 at the House Of Blues Anaheim.
